EDIT: BUG FIXES

We fixed a bug that crashes the game when a tile is hit while jumping at the top of the screen. We also fixed an issue with the player falling through the floor by the ladders AFTER the exit door is opened.

THIS IS OUR FIRST REAL ATTEMPT AT A GAME AND ONLY A PROTOTYPE.

A Lot still needs to be done but I figure I'd share a demo for playtesting to see what the people think. Take control of Heather the executioner as she carries out the death warrants of our benevolent AND malevolent dictator, Generalissimo Gruntin S. Veizatun. Chop off all prisoners heads in the dungeon to open the door to the next chamber but nothing comes easy so you'll have to go back to reach the exit! Avoid the underpaid possessed suits of armor, diabolical death wheels and gruesome Gruntgoyles that plague Gruntin's Dungeon! There's also spikes...ouch. Look for secret rooms that contain bonus collectables and extra lives!

The demo features 7 levels and 1 Secret Room!

Let us know what you think in the comments below.

Excellent prototype.

Off to a great start! Works fine in Argon. The first time I played, I found the jump distance quite challenging, but on subsequent plays, I'd figured it out. Also, the first time I played, I found I needed more of a hint when the door opened. Perhaps something could draw your attention to the fact that the door opened and where it is? Perhaps a "pop" sound like in Boulder Dash, and a flash over the door?

Thanks for the comment! I agree on the door.  I did add a little jingle when it opens but maybe add a screen shake or something to siginfy its open? Suggestions are welcome! Also I'm working on getting a powerup working so V4 is coming at some point soon. Thank you for the feedback!

Sound and screen shake would for sure let you know something happened. Then on top of that it would be nice to have a visual indicator as to where it is (unless you think that is a beneficial game mechanic for you to have to scan/hunt for it - perhaps it is?)
